Hero Arts December 2017

I got my Hero Arts monthly kit yesterday and had a little time to play with it last night. The theme this month is Arabian Nights it's currently (12/13) still available here. For this card I used the fancy window die. I cut the transparency and back of the shaker with just the outline. and I cut the front and 5 black cardstock panels with both the outline and fancy design. I cut out the lattice from all the black panels to create the space for the glitter (I have a ton left over from Christmas cards and trying to use it up) I glued it all together and attached it to a 4x5.25 base from Lawn Fawn Let's Polka In the Dark. I used a piece of black cardstock and a greeting from Simon Says Stamp (no longer available) and heat embossed with Silver the greeting and finished off the card with a heart from Lawn Fawn.

Advent 2017: Names of Jesus

Last week due to some scheduling changes I had a whole day to craft. So I felt inspired to play with my Advent ring album. I finished all 17 days I had left in that one afternoon. I used The Coming King/Names of Jesus  as my starting point. I read and selected a verse for each name and then arranged them in verse order starting in Genesis and ending in Revelation. Some how Great High Priest ended up at the end. I used a lot of the Illustrated Faith Advent collection and the Dayspring Advent kit. I paired it with a couple printables from the Print and Pray shop and things I had in my stash like stamps and dies.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Advent album. Until next time. <3 Ann

December Daily 9

Happy Sunday! Sometimes December Daily comes together in a snap...this was not one of them. I took my cat, Riker, to see Santa at Petsmart. It's something fun I enjoy doing and Riker doesn't get too bothered by it. I got home and printed out these 2 photos one "trying" to get him to look at the camera and one of him just enjoying the attention he always gets at this Petsmart. I started working on this around 3pm yesterday and on and off until I went to bed at 11pm. Then picked it up to finish at 10am this morning and it's now 3pm so 24 hours to do 3 3x4 cards.

Everything on today's spread is from Elle's Studio. Most of it from their Document December kit. The Joy card is from their Tis The Season collection and the 9 stamp is from their Dated Stamp set. And the puffy hearts I'm so in love with.

That's it for Yesterday. Now to find today's story and hopefully be finish in less than 24 hours. Until next time. <3 Ann

December Daily 7

Today's story is about my Advent Calendar. It's the first "real" one I've ever had. I bought the Mellissa and Doug Countdown one 3 or 4 years ago and while it's okay. I've never gotten to open something and decided that my village needed piece and this was an easy way to do it.
On the left is the plain back of my Christmas card I plan to take a couple pictures of the whole collection and attach those to the page protector.

One thing I've learned using my Sprocket printer is that the paper kinda matters and the HP paper stinks. I used to have huge issues printing anything with white space as it would turn blue (the color of their adhesive) well the Polaroid paper I'm currently using has white adhesive so white area is white. The sticky isn't as strong, but that's even better to me. You'll just need to save one of the blue sheets from an HP pack and replace the Polaroid one.

Thanks for stopping by. Until Tomorrow. <3 Ann

Advent Day 6

Today I had a little bit of fun with my black versafine ink and clear embossing powder using it on both the stamp and name. The samp is from last year's Illustrated Faith Tis the Season collection and I used the washi tape from this year's kit to tie in with the 2nd-page design I choose.
Colossians 1:15-17

December Daily 6

Today my story is about my Christmas card. I made a shaker card and it was quite thick. so instead of putting the card into my album this year I took the watercolor piece and matted it on kraft since my actual card had a kraft frame. I filled the page protector with the same glitter I used in the shaker card and then sewed the pocket shut.
The story of this card was interesting. I sketch out my card idea in August. I had planned to do a snow globe shaker that would turn into an ornament. I had also planned to skip the penguins and Copic coloring I had used last year, but this penguin scene was just $6 and I bought it to try. I did watercolor though which is something I've loved this year. I used Tim Holtz Watercolor paper since it was already the size of a card base and white!

That's it for today; Until tomorrow <3 Ann

Advent Day 5

I knew one day I wanted to use one of the cards that I printed since I was making a single page to pair with yesterday it felt like a good time to do so. I used Lawn Fawn scalloped border on the top and bottom to give the title some interest and had enough space for the verse from Isaiah 61:10

December Daily 4

Today I finished putting together my first Christmas village. The thought to start it came from the Delft Houses my husband gets when he travels KLM for business.  Adding in the advent calendar of townspeople I picked up for this year to fill the village out. They're a little too large to live in any of these village houses, but that's okay. It works for us.

For the page design, it's pretty simple. The two photos were printed on my Sprocket and the 4 is from an AE Story Kit this year. Added just one of the stickers from the Elle's Studio kit and called it a day before I go and add 5 puffy hearts to the page.

Tomorrow I'll hopefully have Day 3 (or some part of it) <3 Ann

Advent: Prince of Peace

Today I used one of the religious cards from Ali Edwards and found out that the clear sticker paper can smear. I'll probably reprint the text and replace it later, but for now, I going with the imperfection. Isaiah 9:6 Prince of Peace was done with the Bible Journaling and the Christmas Journaling sets from Neat and Tangled.

December Daily 5

I'm aware today is only the 3rd, but the story I planned for today well those photos are on my husband's phone and he hasn't sent them to me yet. So I knew I needed a filler story for this day and went ahead and told the story of Caray. The Elf adoption certificate is from here and I scaled it down 70% I think to make it 3x4. The number 5 card I got from the Studio Calico Mega Sale a few months ago. The bulk of the other embellishments came from the Elle's Studio kit. I'm going to need to buy another sheet of these puffy hearts from Elle's Studio as I'm loving them and using them on every page so far.
It was a spur of the moment decision to grab Caray on my way out the door to Disneyland and I'm so glad I did. Even his close-up photo I love. (thanks, portiat mode pixel xl 2)

Until tomorrow where I hope to share the story for day 4. <3 Ann

If you're looking for Day 2 you didn't miss it I just didn't post it. Since it's a story involving kids that are not mine I wasn't comfortable sharing that.

Advent Day 3

Today's Name of Jesus is Emmanuel. I again used pieces of all the Illustrated Faith Advent kits and Lawn Fawn stamps for the name. The verse I picked to go along with today's name is Isaiah 7:14

Advent Day 2

Today's name is Redeemer with verse Job 19:25
For redeemer die cut from Neat and Tangled dies. I used some die cuts from the Advent Bible Journaling kit and the stamp and Washi from the Dayspring kit.

Still keeping it simple and enjoying the quiet time working on this every morning.

Until tomorrow. <3 Ann

Advent Day 1

Welcome to December!
Today I'm sharing first my Advent day (December Daily Day 1 is here) I chose the order of names by chronological order of verses. So first up we have Lion of Judah Genesis 49:9-10.
I printed out the ESV verses and attached them on the left with some trees. and the name on the right. I'm keeping it simple and using the time to reflect and enjoy the ease of the plan with the busy of the season.
Until later today or tomorrow. <3 Ann

December Daily 1

Happy December! Today for Day 1 I'm telling the story of my trip to Disneyland on Wednesday. I did narrow down my photos to the best from 600. I removed my Reason Why page to use this photo of It's a Small World lit up and put the title on it. I created this shaker page and on the front, it shows 3 daytime photos and on the back, the exact same locations lit up at night
I added my photo with Santa and added a chipboard piece to my 1.5 inch Avery tab. On the back, I created a collage of all the Californa Adventure characters I met along with some kit embellishments.
Sleeping Beauty Castle lit up with snow and ice and a wood piece I've had for a long time. Kept it simple because the photo is stunning to me.
Then I cut apart a Disneyland soda cup and printed 2 photos on my Sprocket of the Disneyland characters I met.
I added some brief journaling and my favorite character meet of the day. And had enough to give an idea of my day. The rest and more details will go into my Disney album.

That's it for today! Until tomorrow. <3 Ann
