Advent Title Page

My album is a bunch of 3x4 cards on a binder ring.  I bought the 6x8 pad for the IF Advent kit and cut down a bunch of them down to 3x4 to have bases. I used an old Basic Grey ornament die cut, a couple of numbers from an Ali Edwards kit, and the collection name piece from a sticker sheet.  (I did this before I knew what direction my Advent devotional theme was going)

When I sat down with my collected kit pieces and was ready to start everything I started with my title page. I used bits and pieces from both the Bible Journaling Kit and the Dayspring Kit. As well as some Lawn Fawn stamps and ink. Something simple and fun and going with the ornament thing that'll be sprinkled throughout the album.

Advent 2017 Plan

Last year I did the Illustrated Faith Advent devotional and really liked it. I did every day in my new Journaling Bible and I realized that I was a bad idea. Lots of pages I'd like to do other studies in are taken. So this year I wanted to do a mini album of sorts. I waited for the release of the Advent devotional that Dayspring sells for Illustrated Faith and was very disappointed in most of it. Friday the Print and Pray shop released 2 25 day advent products. One called Advent 2017: Make Room and one called The Names of Jesus. I bought both and really loved the Names of Jesus even though its colors didn't match all the IF products I bought for the project. So I'm using the cards which have a name and 2-3 bible verses that reference that name. So I read through the verses and printed each one on clear sticker paper and I'm working from there.

That's it for today, but I'll be back Wednesday with my cover and title pages for Advent. <3 Ann

December Daily Prep post 1

I'm going to take on December Daily this year. I've attempted 7 or 8 of these now. I have 3 almost finished and the rest are in sad states and won't be finished.

This year I came up with a game plan early. It was going to be 3x4 cards on a ring and photos printed from my Sprocket. Well, that changed after Ali Edwards put some 4x6 albums on sale for 2.99.
I also knew from the years I completed the project I did 2 things. I bought a kit and I did foundation pages. So I ordered the Elle's Studio Document December (sold out) with a few add-ons. From Ali Edwards I got the religious cards, chipboard numbers, and the circle number stickers.
The title page uses all Elle's Studio products, except the washi which is Simple Stories.
You can see a flip through of all my foundation pages here on YouTube

I'll hopefully be posting each day's pages here and of course on Instagram
That's it for today; until next time. <3 Ann

November My Monthly Hero Kit

This is my first month as an actual subscriber to My Monthly Hero from Hero Arts and the process was great. I got an email on the 6th (first Monday of the month) with a link to the add-ons and a link to a special sale section. As well as a code for free shipping on any purchases with my kit. The kits start shipping at the end of the week and my kit shipped from Richmond, CA on the 11th. It took a detour on Monday to a nearby post office but did make it to me on Tuesday.  The first thing I did after unpacking the box was to put the dies and stamps in storage sleeves. I cut the stamp set in half so it fits in the Avery Elle Large sleeves
Nov kit + 2 embossing powders I ordered

I started playing with the large stamps and old embossing powders and as I was going to die cut them I found that the dies are not the size of the stamps and since I didn't want 1/8th-ish white borders around each ornament I fussy cut them, which was easy since it was embossed. I used foam tape to pop them off the page and then read through all the small greeting options. I did perform a little stamp surgery to make Joy horizontal instead of vertical. I stamped the words in versafine I used the white ink from last month to put a little snowflake between each word.

It fits my clean and simple style and ready to send out for Christmas season,
Thanks for stopping by; until next time. <3 Ann

I made this card to play with creating rainbows and my watercolors. These are all Prima and I used a wide brush to do each color I then just cut the hello die from Lawn Fawn 6 times and stacked them to give the greeting some dimension.
It's a fun and simple card that can easily be duplicated for a gift set.

That's it for today; until next time. <3 Ann

Psalm 6

Today I'm sharing Psalm 6 and a case of you shouldn't create things when you're exhausted. I didn't create a sketch for this and just started stamping and it became a stamp sneeze problem. I don't dislike the look, but I don't feel like it really connects to the chapter. The O Lord stickers line up right above "deliver my life" which was kinda what I was going for. A lot of what this chapter speaks about wrong doing and how it feels. Also, the bottom tore when I was removing the mat after letting the gesso dry before working on the page.

Not every page is going to be a winner and I'm okay with that and not afraid to show mis-steps as well as pages that easily speak to me and I feel really fit what I was going for.

So, until next time. <3 Ann

Happy Friday!

I couldn't wait to scrapbook this page. I went to Chicago and as soon as I got home my Best kit was waiting for me and I turned on my Sprocket and printed these photos from my phone. I wrote out my journaling on Instagram on the L back to the hotel from the stadium so I wouldn't forget how I felt in that moment.
The background paper is October Afternoon B-Side from their Midway collection. I miss this company a lot.
The yellow cardstock is Lawn Fawn as well as the papers I used to cut Best with my Silhouette (tracing the digital stamp that I get by getting the stamp and scrapbook kit)
I put small white borders around the 2x3 photos and cut the white border off the pieces from the ticket book in the kit. I used my Elle's Studio date stamp set again and I use a roller stamp from my extensive collection.

That's it for today; until next time. <3 Ann

Best Wishes

Welcome to November! The year is flying by.

I'm always trying to use my Ali Edward's Story kits in many different ways to try and kill each kit. I got my Best kit last week and broke into it immediately. The base of the card is from Pinkfish Studios Oh Joy 6x6 pad. I cut down a 3x4 card that said Best Wishes and rounded 2 of the corners. I then grabbed one of the big stars from the kit which have a cool texture to them. I put it down with some regular dot adhesive and it can't be seen. I used foam tape to attach the greeting and added a few glossy accents to give a finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by; Friday I'll have a layout using the Best kit. <3 Ann
